Point System

Coins

Coins are an out-of-character currency used exclusively for shop purchases. They are a gameplay mechanic and have no connection to your character’s canon financal status or to real life monetary value.

They can be earned through events, filling out group memes and for every 2,000 written words—both solo literature and roleplays count.

Another way to earn coins is by drawing Caspanas fanart. This is a little thanks from Lilafly for that kindness! ❤

Stage Points

Stage Points (SP) represent character progression and are what is usually referred to as "experience points" or XP in other RPGs.

Earn SP by creating art, writing and roleplaying. Accumulating SP advances your character through Stages, which unlock progression-locked items, individually relevant lore, and character slots.

Reward Measurement

The short list of how different pieces of artwork are measured is here. Please note that whenever there is a plus sign (+) in front of a number, it indicates that this amount is added to the base count.

For a roleplay, each participant receives SP based on a word count average, rather than the exact word count they wrote. If you prefer to use your personal exact word count and calculate the rewards with that, then you are allowed to do that too (as long as all roleplay participants agree). The other way is the group norm, however, as it ensures equal rewards for each roleplay participant. Event roleplays will all be calculated with the averaging method.

Further definitions and how to clearly differentiate between the complexity levels, etc. can be found down below these lists.

Artwork

  • Application Sheet | 10 SP + 5 Coins

  • sketch dump (per 3 sketches) | 2 SP

  • event art (just the first) | + 20 SP + 10 Coins

  • fanart | + 2 Coins

Base (Flat Colour)

  • single body part | 0.5 SP

  • silhouette | 1 SP

  • headshot | 1 SP

  • half-body | 2 SP

  • fullbody | 3 SP

Shading

  • no shading | + 0 SP

  • backlighting/ hue adjustment | + 1 SP

  • regular shading | + 2 SP

  • extra effort | + 3 SP

Background

  • minimum background | + 1 SP

  • simple background | + 2 SP

  • medium background | + 3 SP

  • complex background | + 4 SP

Literature

  • per 250 words | 1 SP

  • per 2,000 words | 1 Coin

Calculating Roleplays

word total ÷ number of participants = word count per participant

word count per participant ÷ 250 words = SP total

word count per participant ÷ 2,000 words = Coin total

Animation

Every frame of animation counts separately for points, but only for unique frames. Copied frames (eye opening again after closing) do not count! Completely newly drawn frames are counted with the base counts according to how much of the body was drawn (headshot, fullbody, etc.).

Lineart modifications per frame

  • minuscule (blink, etc.) | 0.25 SP

  • partial (flowing mane, etc.) | 0.5 SP

  • completely new (body movement) | SP according to base

Animation Bonus

  • Simple (blink, swivelling ears, etc.) | +1 SP

  • Medium (flowing mane, etc.) | +3 SP

  • Complex (body movement) | +5 SP

Base (Flat Colour)

While the art examples for body parts are visualised by horses, they are to be taken as a percentage and of course apply to any other species as well.

Except for the headshot, the amount of required body surface shown is to be taken as a percentage. It is simply visualised in the most common forms/cutoff points that percentage is usually expressed artistically.

For example: If you draw a character that is cut off vertically in the middle, it still counts as a half-body even though legs are shown.

Shading

In order to account for individual shading styles, shading has been separated into four clearly distinguishable categories:

No Shading | + 0 SP

  • character is drawn in their base colours with no shading whatsoever

Backlighting/ Hue Adjustment | + 1 SP

Please keep in mind that both of these only apply when they are the sole shading done on a piece. When regular shading is applied additionally, it will count as regular shading and you will not get to add it up to become 3 SP, as those are only rewarded for extra effort.

  • backlighting

    • light from behind the character causes shading to lack definition

  • flat colour but hue adjusted to the background

    • darker at night

    • green-ish below tree canopy

    • reddish in firelight

    • etc.

Regular Shading | + 2 SP

  • your regular shading style

Extra Effort | + 3 SP

  • anything that goes beyond your regular shading style

    • at least three examples of previously-drawn art must be shown as proof to claim the extra effort point

Background

Elements

An element is defined by something that can have details added to it in terms of shading and highlights like a tree, a rock, a table, etc.

  • Light sources (sun, moon, stars, fireflies, etc.) do not count as elements

  • A multitude of the same simple element drawn with a brush (flowers, leaves, etc.) or a copy-pasted element (lanterns, fence posts, birds, etc.) count as a singular element

Please Note!

The bullet points below denote separate requirements for a complexity level!

Only one is required to apply, but multiple bullet points can of course apply as well.

Minimum | + 1 SP

  • colour gradient

  • textures

  • no clear separate elements

  • minimally edited premade bg

Please note that work by yourself had to be put into it and that unedited premade backgrounds by you (backgrounds that you drew before and are reusing), photos, free bgs, etc. do not count for Stage Points!

Simple | + 2 SP

Simple scenery with a horizon

  • 1-4 simple-rendered elements

  • no elements with detailed rendering

Medium | + 3 SP

  • more complicated scenes with some details

  • Simple sceneries drawn with a lot of detail and rendering

  • 5-10 simple-rendered elements

  • 1-3 elements with detailed rendering

Complex | + 4 SP

Complex sceneries with multiple elements drawn with detailed rendering

  • 10+ simple-rendered elements

  • 3+ elements with detailed rendering
