How To Join
If you want to join the RPG, you only need three things:

A character specifically created for the Caspanas-RPG

Information for said character
-
A drawn reference sheet of said character
In order to combine those three things into a character application, this website will provide you with all necessary information.
Your character can be part of one of six possible factions. Their affiliation to this faction determines how their life went and will go, where they live, what they believe and how they will most likely act. Short, informational entries of each faction can be found on the Factions section of the website—you don't need to read through all of the factions, but you need to read up on the one you intend to join.
After you chose your faction and read up on its requirements, you can design your character (there are some design restrictions for certain factions, so we recommend designing the character after choosing the faction). After that is done, you write your character's information.
Down below you can review the required information. Not all of it will fit every character, so if a point does not apply to your character, just leave it out.
Required Information

Your character sheet does not have to be drawn on the provided template. If you design your own character sheet layout, however, there are some minimum criteria that must be included in it:

A coloured fullbody drawing of your character

If the design on the other side of their body differs, the other side must also be shown

Any items that are on your character at all (or most) times must be shown in a closeup separately

Colours must be specified in an extra section, ideally separately labelled

If you're able to, then please show the colours on a traditionally-drawn sheet digitally by adding them digitally after the fact

Character Information
You are welcome to give as much information about your character as you want. However, there is a topical layout we are asking you to use to make the readability easier for the admins who have to check your reference sheet. There are five categories:

Backstory
Each category has a minimum amount of information. You can find these requirements in the template, together with explanations of what to include.
You are, of course, welcome to include more information than what is shown on the template, as long as you sort it into the right topical category (i.e. adding a partner or crush section to the social category).
If you are not sure about something, you can ask in the server or send a note to the group.
The backstory has no minimum word count. However, it should clearly show your character’s life from their point of view. If you are unsure about details or do not want to decide everything yet, you can keep parts of it vague or write a short summary. Still, your backstory should include clear details that make your character unique.
Your character's magic title depends on their magical education.
The highest starting title is Arcanist. To use this title, your character must have studied at and graduated from a Magic Academy. For the Derenta and Heranor factions, finishing an apprenticeship is also enough.
If your character does not have this training in their backstory, they cannot have this title. Please also make sure it is realistic. Your character must have had the chance to get this education. If they are not part of the Derenta or Heranor factions and do not have enough money to study at a Magic Academy, they cannot have Arcanist-level training.

The Application Process
After you drew your character's reference sheet and wrote their personal information, you are ready to send a join request to the group.
The join request form should look like the following:
Name: (your character's name here)

How to send the character application:

Go to the group page and click "join"

Go to the open join request itself and paste the filled out form above into a comment on the log
We admins will then take a look at your application sheet to check if all the given information is correct. If there are corrections to be made, we will tell you in the comment log of the join request, and will accept your application if it aligns with the requirements stated above.
Joining on discord or Fluxer
As an alternative to deviantArt, the discord and Fluxer servers function as community spaces where uploading artwork and keeping track of it is possible.
How to send the character application:

Join your prefered app's server (join links on the website's front page)

Go to the #application-sheet-mailbox channel

Paste the filled out form from above into a message in the channel and send it
Please do not contact the admins privately in direct messages for this matter!
