Rules
The group has a simple three strike system. If a member receives more than 3 strikes, they will be removed from the group. Rejoining depends on situation to situation, however if you are banned more than once you will be banned permanently. Some rules do not give you strikes when broken, such as the joining rules. If you get a strike the admin account will note you privately.
We donotdoactivitychecks, however if your character has not done anything within a year then we will note you asking if you are still interested in being a member. If you should wish to leave, please note us, and begin removing your artwork from the group.
General Rules
â—— Bullying is not tolerated under any circumstances. While it is fine (when appropriate with the character's personality) to have a character bullying other characters and displaying prejudices, no homophobic, racist or otherwise offensive remarks should be made to another member.
â—— While this group is welcome to members of all ages, we do expect a certain rate of maturity. Childish behaviour is not appreciated, which means that you should not start unnecessary fights with the admins. This will be rated with one strike.
â—— deviantART's rules of course also count in this group. Arttheft, or copying ideas is not tolerated. Be original and draw inspiration from all kinds of sources! c:
â—— Your Application Sheet, together with the information about the character, must be kept in the group at all times! You are not allowed to put it in your storage. If we notice such a case we will at first inform you by note. If you responded but did not move the Application Sheet out of storage after a week you will receive a strike for that. If you feel unsure of the art of your application or if the information in it needs an update, then simply state so in the artist's comment of the deviation.
â—— While you are welcome to contact us admins at any time, we would prefer if you would not contact us about group stuff on our private accounts but that you contact the group by note, especially for Application Sheet reviews and group-related questions!
â—— If you want to leave the group, then note the group before doing so, with a given reason as to why you take that step and remove your character's Reference Sheet and art from the group gallery.
Roleplay
â—— In a roleplay, a character must remain realistic. Do not let your character become a Mary Sue (a character that can do everything without any problems) and stay true to the skills and traits your character has. Should your character develop new traits, please update the reference sheet.
â—— Do stay true to the characteristic of your character's faction! No habitant of Monabur in their right mind would ever dare to insult the king or his family or in any way act disrespectful towards them. While we do embrace the individuality of characters we ask you to keep those specific things close to the real deal.
â—— You may choose any form of roleplay you like, but in order to receive Gold Shards (experience points) you will have to upload the roleplay in a text file on deviantART and it has to have a certain length as a minimum (take a look at the point system to find out how much).
â—— If your roleplay is of any mature content, then please rate it with a mature content filter when publishing it! When group-roleplaying in an event, then either at first ask other members if they are alright withmaturecontent, or just put an M at the beginning of your post and explain next to it why it is mature (violence, gore, sexual themes, etc.).
â—— Be patient with your fellow roleplayers! Everyone roleplays at a different pace and therefore might take longer to make a post. If you are roleplaying in a group of more than three people, it is recommended to set a posting order before starting, so that no member is left out just because they could not post for a while.
â—— Mind the measurements of the map! Mereldia is huge. So huge in fact that one ofthecountires (Koruna) is mostly a desert while the next country north to it (North Lands) is mostly full of snow and ice. A journey from one country to the next takes very long, so especially when you write your character's story, keep this in mind. There has to be a serious reason for someone to move from the North Lands to Koruna or Eriwon respectively, or vice versa, since the distance is huge!
Character
â—— Do mostly stick to natural colours when designing your character (except the iris colour, that can vary in all rainbow colours). This is because in some cities your character might get into trouble when looking too much out of place. You also can add wings to your character if you like or mutations, etc. Read the lore of your city to better understand what is acceptable
â—— Your character should have 'balanced' traits, a mix of positive and negative. No character is truly good or evil, but a mix of various traits.
â—— Do not add more than minor accessories, such as hair clips, to your character before applying! You can buy those later in the shop as your character level up.
â—— Small changes to character design areallowed, such asbrighteningcolour. For more major ones, go and buy the relevant item from the shop in order to change this. No character that has appeared in the comic can changeit's design.
â—— If you adopted a character from a group adoptable sheet, then this character is required to stay in the group since they were specifically designed as a part of the world of Mereldia. If you want to leave the group, then this character design will automatically go back to Lilafly and you will have lost the design of the character.
â—— You may only have one character slot open at a time. This means that if you purchase a changeling necklace for example, and do not draw a character for that slot before your birthday, you cannot get a Selkie Shell on your birthday because that would leave you with two character slots open.
â—— To kill your character, please note the group giving a good reason as to why. If you do not like your character or you do not connect with them, then you may discontinue them, and swap out their slot for a new character
Joining
â—— Your Application needs to be completely filled out before it is sent to the group! If you have questions or need some help, then you are always free to note the group and we will do our best to aid you. If your Application is not complete by far, then it immediately will be declined. When, however, only one or two simple things are missing, then it will get on the waiting list and you are required to change the things we told you within a month, otherwise your Application will be denied and you will have to retry.
â—— Write your character's information as detailed as possible. Poorly written Applications, where we can see not much work that has been given to them, will be declined. To not let that happen, mind the following points:
â—‹ the general information (name, species, age, etc.) must be filled out completely
â—‹ the personality of your character must AT LEAST have three good and three bad traits which you describe as detailed as possible.
â—‹ the story of your character must be both realistic and logical! And with story we mean a biography. Tell us about your character's parents, about their childhood, what they explored in their life and how they became who they are today.
â—— Premade basesorlinearts are NOT allowed. We want to see your own art and your own ideas for shape and size of the character. You are allowed to let someone draw the application art for you, but you must send us some art of the character to show you are comfortable with drawing the character
