Application Sheet

After reading through the How To Join Journal you are probably wondering if there are any pre-made bases for Reference Sheets and Trackers you might have to use. The answer is "yes, there are", but you do not have to use them. If you use them or not is left up to you. There are still a few things you have to keep in mind when creating your own base for your character Sheet. Therefore let me go through it once so that you know the requirements.

Shoulder height of the character

character's gender

colors used to draw the character

(Mereldian) age of the the character

character's name

         character's rank

For city characters this would be both their social class and their occupation. Example:

Middle Class | Baker

character's magic type: either light or darkness

character's magic element: fire, water, air or earth

Here you can note down certain details of the design that might not be obvious like scars or jewelry or a piece of clothing that is worn all the time but not drawn in the reference

Character's design must be shown from both sides. If you draw a detailled picture of your character from one side to show how they look like, then be sure to also include a version (can be a simple flat color like the templates here) of the other body side's design!

Here is an example of a fully filled out Reference. In this case a character of the Verensa Herd faction.

Have an example of a non-template Reference below. As you can see, it is the perfect option for traditional artists without them having to have access to drawing programs or anything of the like.

1. The character has to be visible from both sides

2. Details like jewellery or eye colour, for example, have to be highlighted

3. The colours used to draw the character should optimalically be given

Stage Tracker

your character's name here

your character's rank here

draw a headshot of your character here

Here you give information about your character's main magic element and about their two secondary elements. Keep in mind:

- Only one element can be a main element

- The two secondary elements are those that don't oppose it

- The opposing element cannot be used at all!

Here you determine where in between light and darkness your character's magic lies. It will sway to one side but never is purely light or purely dark. It being exactly in the middle is extremely rare (you need the admins' permission for that) and therefore you should not place it there either. Just draw a simple line, an arrow, etc. to indicate where exactly on this scale your character's magic would be sorted into.

Here you write down the amount of crystals you have and therefore see which magic level your character has gained so far.

Please keep in mind:

- Caspanas that start at an advanced level (those that finished their training) get the 3 crystals for the beginner level gifted by default

- The same rule applies to fae that are already at advanced level

- starting at S-Class level is not possible!

ability from the basic ability set
ability from the advanced ability set
ability from the b/a ability set
ability from the rare ability set
ability from the divine ability set
first unique ability
second unique ability
third unique ability

Abilities that can be chosen from sets when you chose to and when the required stage for them is reached.

Abilities that are invented by you for your character. You can choose up to three of them.

The ability box. Here you can note down you character's abilities which they can gain from getting to new stages and which can be leveled with Gold Shards. The basic, advanced, rare and divine abilities are those abilities you have to choose from vertain ability sets which you decide to use them for your character. It is left up to you if yo uwant your character to have any of them at all though.
The second kind of abilities are the Unique Abilities. In contrary to the abilities you can chose from sets, those are ones which you can incent yourself and which you choose at the beginning when starting your character. You can choose up to three, but be careful, because the more you choose, the lower the maximum amount of leveling and therefore the weaker the ability. They are counted as follows:
One Unique Ability: up to 300 Gold Shards
Two Unique Abilities: up to 150 Gold Shards each
Three Uniwue Abilities: up to 100 Gold Shards each

insert pictures of your character's gained/purchased items here, and/or just list them off

(for example: changeling necklace, magic key, etc.)

The Stage Tracker is a way to, as the name already implies, keep track of your stages. The stages are the same as the, in RPGs commonly known, "levels", but since the magic is already counted in levels, we decided to name them "stages" to have two separate words for the two separate things. This way there will hopefully be no confusion of one or the other. How those stages work is best explained in the "Point System" part of this website, so check that out.

But in short:

Through drawing and/or roleplaying your character you receive "Gold Shards". A certain amount of Gold Shards qualifies you to be on a certain stage. The more Gold Shards you have, the higher your stage is. With each "level up" ("stage up" so to speak) you gain more things.

The Stage Tracker covers two points of your characters levelling: the magic and the abilities. Both are explained above briefly. More information about them can be found in the magic section and in the point system section of the website!

And don't worry, the Stage Tracker is not mandatory. But it is, like the Application Sheet template, an option.
